Willow Stream Pool Grand Opening Celebration (Buffalo Grove Park District ) – The community is invited to the grand opening of the renovated Willow Stream Pool from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 18. a water slide, a ramp entrance to make the pool accessible for individuals with special needs and a renovated bathhouse are all part of the improvements, as are a new deck, pool liner and filtration system. Teens needed to serve as live art at 10th annual Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Art Festival July 16 and 17, 2011 held in the Buffalo Grove Town Center, at the intersection of McHenry Road (Route 83) and Lake Cook Road. The Children’s Advocates, Indian Trails Public Library District, is an independent organization made up of patrons of the library district who support children by presenting programs to promote library use, sponsor fund-raising activities, promote the library as a safe, educational and fun place for children. Advocates also work to raise awareness of library programs/services. They sponsor quarterly bus trips to places throughout Illinois as well as one to two unique programs. In 2005 the Advocates collected toy donations for Hurricane Katrina.
